2008 Beach Blast Recap
Record Field, Fantasic Finish and New Course Record Set for the Women
A record field of 219 runners pounded the pavement for the 4th Annual Beach Blast 5K
In a sprint to the finish, Matt Tyndall, Pfeiffer Cross Country Runner, outkicks Thomasville's Justin Sink
at the finish to win the Beach Blast 5K with a time of 16:55. Sink finished in 16:56.
West Stanly's Joe Burris finishes 3rd and Maria Bartlett sets a new course record
for the women with a time of 19:28

push to the finish. For the second year in a row, Rick's grandson beats him to the finish.
Montgomey County was well represented as Gwen Lanning finishes strong. The father and son team
of Pete and Donnie Herron ran together.

with their names and times carved into the gourd.
